BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE
RAMEN WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND
Hokkaido is quite cold compared to the rest of the country. Sapporo is the most lively part of Hokkaido and for good reason. The food here is quite lovely which has its own style of ramen. There is a “RAMEN ALLEY” which will be packed with visitors but the good thing is there are roughly 10 different shops to choose from if one is too busy. SUMIRE is one of the most popular shops which I’ve provided a Google Maps link below!
SCALLOPS OVER THE FIRE
HOKKAIDO HAIRY CARB AKA KEGANI
BEAUTIFUL UNI
YOU’LL FIND THIS QUITE OFTEN
usc: uni, scallops, crabs
While ramen may be a popular choice especially during colder weather, you can still find what they are truly known for: scallops, uni and crab. All 3 come in various forms and it obviously depends how you want it cooked…or not. I love scallop sashimi however having them grilled with butter is amazing too. Grab yourself an uni don or go to the hairy crab market and bag yourself some crabs! Click the Google Maps link below is of KONDO NOBORU SHOTEN which is a popular spot to get Hokkaido Crab.
one of the best Vietnamese spots in Sapporo
Interesting enough, one of the best eats I’ve had was at a Vietnamese restaurant of all places. It was called HANOI STREET RESTO. The reason why we even went here was because Odori was super packed with everyone visiting for the Snow Festival. The good thing is that it’s Vietnamese owned and run so I got to practice my terrible Vietnamese. Check out my IG video with the link below!
